Complete a Design Thinking challenge Consider ways in which design thinking can be used to enhance students' 'real-world problem solving' abilities. In class I want to get maths students to explain concepts such as factors, multiples and primes as well as squared and cubed numbers. They need to create something to teach other students. My students could use a design thinking model to work out the best way to teach others these concepts.  We could also use the design thinking model during our passion project time. To prepare for the class session, think about how/if distributed leadership is enacted in your school. Possibly the Think Tanks - although they have a leader, there are representatives from across the school who are at the very least responsible for feeding back to the teams and taking their concerns(?) to the Think Tank meetings. Leadership Leadership Theories, Styles and Attributes This week we introduce a number of leadership theories. A theory is something that has been put forward as a way of analysing leadership, and should therefore be empirically testable, or at least is suggested on the basis of evidence. A style is much more personal. It is the way that people act out their leadership roles. In applying a particular theory of leadership, a number of leadership styles might be applied.
